Tweening isn't that hard. Frame-by-frame or scripting is much harder. And the cloaking stealth effect is just tweening from alpha 0 to alpha 100.

its not something as simple as alpha 0 to alpha 100, its all about the distortion of the background with the character to get the effect of a stealth cloak
Is this all masking? I've done something similar to get a water ripple affect. I'd say the lag would kill it if it were put into a proper scale flash though. I had to rasterize the masked images in order to make my water not lag.
yes, its done using masking technic but the animation being the mask
Have to agree with zrb, a tutorial would be nice. Looks fantastic alot like the predator or elite cloak, more of an active camo bending the background.
